iOS wireless network names

This is an irritating thing about iOS:

Multiple wireless networks with same name

There is no easy way to view the full SSID of each available wireless network, without actually connecting to it (when you are not sure if that will even work).

The problem magnifies itself when at a large convention or public location that has a lot of similar-named networks (Verizon’s MiFi device, in particular).

I’ve tried viewing this settings page in landscape mode, but that does not seem possible (it won’t rotate), and I’ve also touched the right-arrow button (to the right of each network name) to see if it shows the full name, but no luck there either.

Verizon could remedy this problem by putting the unique identifier at the beginning of the SSID, rather than at the end.

But it’s really a design issue that needs to be fixed on iOS.
