Amazon S3 now part of AWS Management Console

This is somewhat important – Amazon has finally provided a user interface for managing content on their S3 service. You can log into your AWS Management Console and view the “Amazon S3″ tab:

Prior to this, managing content on S3 involved third-party tools like JungleDisk or S3Fox. Some services charge extra on top of your S3 fees, and some are just plain buggy.

Although, having an official Amazon user interface for managing S3 content may help ease the transition for new users, there is still a great benefit in existing third-party software because it may be more refined.

And speaking of “refined,” I currently can’t even access my console for S3 yet, as I am presented with this message:

I’m on a 100 MB up/down connection at the moment, so I highly doubt it’s my connection speed. It looks like they have some “out of the gate” bugs to address.
